As mentioned, a hand blender is one of the different types of blenders now gaining much popularity among consumers of kitchen utensils. These items feature a long stick-like shaft and a single rotating blade that can be used in virtually any container. They are today manufactured from a variety of materials such as plastic and stainless steel. These items are very popular today in both home and business settings as they can be used to blend most food ingredients within their own jars, bowls, or pots and feature blade guards that are significant in the prevention of injuries and accidents.

As mentioned, food items can be blended in their own containers by hand blenders. This is also among the reasons cited for the increasing popularity of these kitchen implements such as the Phillips hand blender. With said functionality of these items, the need to transfer food items from one container to another is prevented. Another important factor that contributes to the popularity of these items is their multi-functionality-they can be used in virtually every food preparation processes such as grinding, beating, and whisking.

Today, hand blenders can be purchased in two types. First between these two are the corded types which are preferred for their power that allows food items to be blended more easily and quickly. These items are electrically powered, and hence, feature a cord that needs to be directly connected to an electric outlet. The cordless hand blenders are the second type of hand blenders. As the name suggests, these blenders do not feature a cord, rather are battery operated. These items are great for outdoor cooking with their portability, though are less powerful than corded types.

Choosing the right type of hand blender, such as the Philips hand blender can be difficult. One of the first things to remember when choosing is your cooking requirements. Consider what you're going to be blending and how much of it, as a freestanding blender may be a better option if you are going to be mixing larger quantities of ingredients. Also look at the attachments and functions of the machine. The basic parts of a hand blender include graspable top and foot blades which does the blending. The foot blades need to be covered and made of stainless steel in order to prevent rusting. Checking the power and speeds is also a must. The higher the power in Watts of the hand blender, the more easily and quickly it will be able to mix harder ingredients. To get a proper idea of how fast the blender can actually go, look at the 'rpm' or revolutions per minute. Lastly, checking additional features such as safety, cleaning and storage will also be a great help.

No matter what type of hand blender you choose, may it be a Philips hand blender or other popular brands; the important part is that you are happy and contented with your choice. Remember to trust your instincts when buying.
